Welcome to ShalaPro (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website (shalapro.com), purchase our plans, and use the ShalaPro Windows desktop software.

By using our website or software, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect and Process

We maintain a strict separation between the administrative data we need to run our business and the private student data you manage within your school.

A. School Profile Information (Collected to Improve Our Project)

To continuously improve the ShalaPro software project, build better features, and provide tailored customer support, we collect the following administrative information when you register:

• School Name
• School Principal Name
• Mobile Number
• Email Address
• Address of the School
• UDISE Code
• Last Updated Profile Time

B. Payment Information (Razorpay)

We use Razorpay as our secure payment gateway. We do not collect or store your credit card, debit card, or UPI PIN details. We only receive payment confirmation metadata (transaction ID, payment status, and amount) from Razorpay to activate your plan.

C. Student & Backup Data (Zero-Knowledge Encryption)

ShalaPro requires an active internet connection to automatically upload backups to our cloud servers hosted via Hostinger (India / Asia Pacific regions) to protect you from local data loss.

• Zero-Knowledge Architecture: The actual database containing student names, results, attendance, family ledgers, photos, and personal information is encrypted locally on your computer before it is uploaded to our servers.
• We Cannot See Your Data: We do not possess your decryption keys. Our team cannot open, read, or access your encrypted backups. Because we cannot access this data, we do not process or analyze any student data for our own purposes.

2. Local Storage & Offline-First Architecture

ShalaPro is designed as a lightning-fast, offline-first Windows 10/11 desktop application.

• Local Control: All data you enter into the software is saved strictly on your local computer’s hard drive within the Windows AppData folder.
• No Third-Party Bundling: We respect your PC’s environment. ShalaPro never bundles, distributes, or installs any unauthorized third-party software, adware, or trackers alongside our application.

3. Subscriptions and Account Access Limits

To protect the integrity of our licensing system, the following strict rules apply to ShalaPro accounts:

• Email-Locked Plans: Your purchased subscription plan is permanently tied to the specific Email ID used during registration.
• Software Login: You must use this exact registered Email ID to log into the ShalaPro software to activate and enjoy the benefits of your purchased plan.
• Lost Credentials: If you lose access to your registered Email ID and password, we will not transfer or resume your plan on a newly registered email. It is your sole responsibility to maintain access to your registered email account.

4. Payments and No-Refund Policy

• Payment Gateway Liability: All transactions are processed securely via Razorpay. We are not liable for any transaction failures, delayed deductions, or financial losses that occur during the payment gateway process. Any such disputes must be resolved directly with your bank and Razorpay.
• No Refund Policy: ShalaPro operates on a strict No Refund policy. Because we offer a fully functional demo version for you to test and evaluate before purchasing, all subscription sales are final.

5. Data Loss and Liability Limitations

While we strive to provide 100% effort in keeping your encrypted cloud backups secure and our infrastructure robust, software and hardware can fail. By using ShalaPro, you acknowledge the following limitations of liability:

• Local Hardware Failure: If your hard disk crashes, Windows becomes corrupted, or your computer is compromised before the software has successfully uploaded a backup to the cloud, we are not responsible for the lost data.
• Server-Side Issues: We host our website and API subdomains on Hostinger servers. In the highly unlikely event of a catastrophic server failure, data breach at the data center, or network loss resulting in the loss of your encrypted cloud backups, ShalaPro shall not be held legally or financially responsible.

6. How We Use Your Information

The School Profile Information we collect (listed in Section 1A) is used strictly for the following purposes:

• Improving and customizing the ShalaPro project to better serve educational institutions.
• Verifying your active subscription and authenticating your software login.
• Communicating important software updates, security alerts, and customer support information directly to the Principal or registered admin.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your School Profile Information to any third-party marketing or advertising companies.

7. Your Rights Under DPDPA 2023

In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act of India, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the School Profile Information we hold about you on our servers.

(Note: Because your cloud backups are zero-knowledge encrypted, we cannot alter, retrieve, or read the student data within them on your behalf. You retain complete control over student data directly within your ShalaPro desktop application, ensuring your school remains fully compliant with student privacy laws).
